Garden Cress "Broad leaves".
Fresh taste and vitamins without worries! Champion in early maturity!
Mid-season variety (the period from germination to the beginning of economic suitability is 30-38 days) is characterized by very fast growth. The rosette of leaves is 10-12 cm high, the number of leaves is 10-12. Fresh leaves with a pleasant taste of mustard and horseradish, rich in vitamins and mineral salts are used for food.
Young shoots are used to prepare salads, sandwiches, seasonings for soups and meat. The harvest is obtained in 12-15 days, cutting the plants with scissors.
Agricultural technology.
Watercress grows on light fertile soils. The best predecessors are tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, root vegetables, lettuce, dill. To organize a “green conveyor”, seeds are sown in open ground repeatedly: from the end of April - beginning of May, every 7-10 days.
Sow the seeds in rows with a distance of 20 cm between rows. The seeding rate is 1 g/m2. The seeds are embedded to a depth of 0.5-1 cm. If the shoots are dense, the plants are thinned out.
Plant care consists of loosening the spaces between the rows, weeding, watering in dry weather, and fertilizing.
Watercress should be harvested 2-3 weeks after sowing.
Watercress can also be grown indoors in boxes with a thin layer of soil (5-8 cm).
